The pursuit of predictable, esthetic, and long-lasting implant restorations has become increasingly dependent on the seamless collaboration between clinician and dental technician. While digital technologies continue to transform implant dentistry, outstanding clinical outcomes still require a profound understanding of biological principles, restorative concepts, material science, and laboratory expertise.

This interdisciplinary presentation demonstrates how a restorative team can successfully integrate analog knowledge with modern digital workflows to optimize treatment outcomes—from single-tooth replacement to complex full-arch rehabilitations. Clinical protocols will be presented covering CAD/CAM-generated abutments, the opportunities and current limitations of intraoral scanning, and indications where photogrammetry provides a valuable alternative for highly accurate full-arch implant impressions. Furthermore, the lecture will illustrate how high-performance 3D-printed PMMA prototypes can be used to verify esthetics, function, and patient acceptance before transferring the design into definitive monolithic zirconia restorations.

Special attention will be given to the role of advanced ceramic materials and micro-layering techniques, demonstrating how functional monolithic restorations can be transformed into highly esthetic, natural-looking rehabilitations without compromising strength or longevity.

Rather than presenting digital dentistry as a fully automated workflow, this lecture emphasizes the intelligent integration of digital technologies with proven analog concepts. Through numerous clinical cases, the speakers will demonstrate where digital workflows have become highly predictable and where current limitations still exist.
